CVArcade

An interactive resume for designers, and what it can't show

CVArcade turns your CV into a small game with a stop for every role. It presents your career history in a world you choose. It is not a place for case studies.

What it's good for

A designer's CV is read for taste as well as history. The three worlds are illustrated and animated, and you choose the one that fits you. The words in them are your own.

Choose a world

Night Train is a sleeper train drawn in 3D, with a station for every role. Summit Trail is a hiker's climb with a camp for every role. Pixel Town is a pixel-art street with a building for every role. They show the same content, and previews are free, so try all three.

What it can't do

There are no photos, no free-form layout and no custom domain, and you can't add case studies or images. Mechanics, visuals and pacing are fixed for each game. If your work needs room, keep a portfolio and link it from your CV.

Share it next to your portfolio

Put the link in your email signature, on LinkedIn or at the top of your portfolio. Readers who only want the history can open the plain-text version.

Questions

Can I add images of my work?

No. CVArcade shows your CV's text, not images. Link to your portfolio from your CV instead.

Can I change the colors or layout?

No. You choose the world, the order of your entries, which entries to hide and whether to show the “Made with CVArcade” badge.

Will it replace my portfolio?

No. A portfolio shows your work. This shows your career history.
