CVArcade

An interactive resume example, from one CV to three games

Jordan Avery is a made-up persona. This is what CVArcade builds from a single CV, from the first card a reader sees to the plain-text page behind it.

The CV behind the example

Jordan is a product engineer in Seattle with eight years of experience. The CV lists three jobs, from Software Engineer at Ledgerhouse in 2017 to Senior Product Engineer at Brightpath from 2023, plus a side project called Tallybird, a degree, a hackathon award and volunteer mentoring. Most jobs have a few highlights, and the skills list is grouped by language, frontend and backend.

What the reader sees first

Every game opens on a start card: the name, the headline (“Product engineer who ships fast and cares about craft”), the current role and the top skills, with a choice to play or read. A reader who only wants the basics has them before touching the game.

Three worlds, the same content

In Night Train, each of Jordan's roles is a station and the skills flip into place on a departures board. In Summit Trail, each role is a camp on a mountain path and the skills wait at a ranger hut. In Pixel Town, each role is a building on a pixel-art street and the skills are at the market. Contact details sit at the end of each route.

The plain-text version

Behind every game is a text page with the same content in a fixed order. For Jordan that is summary, experience, education, awards, volunteering, skills and interests. It loads fast, works with screen readers and is what a reader gets if their device can't run the game.

Where the highlights come from

Each highlight the AI keeps is tied to a line in the CV it was built from. Before anything is published, the owner sees every extracted line, with the source quote next to anything flagged, and fixes what is wrong. How the check works
