Interactive resume vs PDF resume: which one to send
Send both. The PDF is the document employers and applicant tracking systems expect, so keep applying with it. An interactive resume is a link you share next to it, for the moments a PDF is easy to skip.

| Feature | PDF resume | Interactive resume (CVArcade) |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A fixed document | A web page with a game and a plain-text version |
| Applicant tracking systems | The format they expect | Not read; apply with a document |
| Where it works best | Applications, email attachments and print | LinkedIn, messages, email signatures and portfolios |
| Effort for the reader | Download and scroll | One tap, then play or read as text |
| After you change jobs | Edit, export again and resend | Edit and republish; the link stays the same |
| Cost | Free in most word processors | Free to preview, one payment to publish |
When the PDF is the right choice
Use the PDF for applications. Employers expect a document, and applicant tracking systems read documents. A PDF also prints cleanly and attaches to any email.
When a link helps
A link opens on any phone with nothing to download. It suits LinkedIn, a message to a recruiter, your email signature, or the QR code you can put on a printed CV. Because the link keeps working while you edit, you never have to resend a new version.
What changes for the reader
A PDF is read from top to bottom. An interactive resume opens on a card with your name, current role and top skills, then lets the reader play through each role or switch to plain text.
Keep one CV as the source
CVArcade builds the game from your CV, and the AI adds nothing that isn't in it. After you publish, you can read an updated CV into the same game up to 3 times, or edit the game directly, and republish.
Questions
Should I replace my PDF resume with an interactive one?
No. Keep applying with the PDF and share the interactive resume next to it. Resumes and ATS
Will a recruiter open a game link?
Some will play and many will just read. That is why every game has a plain-text version with the same content.
Does the interactive version say more than my PDF?
It is built from the same CV, and the AI adds nothing that isn't in it. Long CVs may be shortened to fit a game, and you decide what changes.
