Should you put a QR code on your resume?

It can help on a printed copy, where a reader has a phone and no link to click. Print the plain link beside it, and send something that loads well on a phone.

When a QR code helps

On paper. A recruiter holding a printed resume at a career fair or an interview can scan a code in a second. On a PDF that someone reads on a screen, a clickable link does the job and a code adds clutter.

What to link to

A page that opens quickly on a phone and says something your resume doesn't, such as a portfolio or a short interactive version. Test the code on your own phone before you print.

Keep it small and add the link

A small code in a corner is enough. Print the plain web address beside it, so a reader without a scanner can still type it.
